Bio:

PlanGen LLC

Eric Edelstein is co-founder, CTO and Vice President of Product Development for PlanGen, LLC since 2002.  PlanGen engineers, develops and hosts world-class, hosted Internet web applications for national carriers and agencies who are leaders in sophisticated, advanced market defined benefit pension plans.

Eric  is responsible for application engineering and web site interface design and coding utilizing Microsoft “.NET” framework technology coded in C#, HTML, DHTML, TSQL,  JavaScript and jQuery implementations of JSON, HTML, CSS and XML. Other engineering environments include stored procedure and database schema technology utilizing SQL Server and related C# business logic tier components and modules for native consumption and web services provisioning as well as web service API integration with third party insurance carrier policy engine systems. E-commerce integration engineering to PayPal for real-time payments and Instant Payment Notification server-to-server communications via .NET and SQL Server.

Eric is responsible for translating user interaction behaviors and business logic into the final web application interface and back-end databases to support high-performance, compliant application systems.  Eric manages source code control, inter-application code repositories and version releases for the major and minor applications and databases provided through the PlanGen interfaces for thousands of user accounts in PlanGen.

Dot.Com Boom:

Eric is a veteran insider of the "Dot.Com boom" of the late 1990s-early 2000s having been the Senior Software Engineer and Web Technology Architect at MeansBusiness.com (R.I.P.) - Forbes "Best of the Web 2001, 2002" and Knowlege Management's "Top 100 companies to watch". 

Geographic Information Systems (GIS):

In a previous life, Eric was elected Chairman of the State Geographic Information System (GIS) Technical Advisory Committee from 1993-1996 when the state of Vermont embarked upon its first statewide electronic mapping and database system utilizing ARC/INFO software and servers.  Eric managed the Regional Enhanced 911 spatial data development program for an 1,100 square-mile region in central Vermont as part of his role as the Manager of one the Regional GIS service centers.

Environmental Science and Law:

Prior to GIS technology,  Eric designed, managed and conducted Primary Confidential Technical Enforcement Support to U.S. EPA. For National Priority CERCLA/RCRA hazardous waste site litigation and negotiations throughout the United States. He directed and managed the atmospheric dispersion modeling contractor team for 1984 EPA Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards Tall Stacks Regulation Revision Impact Analysis.

ExoticSkis:

Eric is the Founder (2005) and Lead Ski Tester for ExoticSkis.com, the World's largest collection of links, information and independent tests about small, obscure, unknown, little-known, unique, independent or just plain bizarre ski manufacturers from around the World.  ExoticSkis.com is regularly interviewed and quoted by the ski industry media, as well as the New York Times, Boston Globe, Denver Post, radio stations and others.

MotoCross, Enduro & French:

Eric's formative years were spent obtaining an AMA (American Motorcycle Association) Professional Competition License at the age of 16 for motocross racing.  He currently enjoys off-road enduro training with A and AA enduro and hare-scrambles riders in New England, and wishes he could return to spend more time in France where he lived in a small village with his wife and children for nearly three years - desperately trying to learn French.

Education:

Eric holds  A.A.S, B.S. and M.S.L. degrees in science and law.
